What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a holistic health technique that derives from traditional Chinese medicine. During an acupuncture session, your Dr. Woods will stimulate specific points on the body, shallowly into the skin, with very thin needles to relieve a multitude of symptoms and conditions. The needles are solid, as opposed to hypodermic needles used in hospitals to administer medicines and fluids. Acupuncture first appeared in Chinese medicine roughly 2500 years ago and has been improving throughout the years with time and medical research.

Does Acupuncture hurt?

Although needles are used during the treatments, our patients experience little to no discomfort during their visit.

  • Migraine headaches
  • Joint pain from arthritis

  • Depression
  • Insomnia

Acupuncture is considered a mind and body practice and has been used to treat a wide variety of disease, symptoms derived from stress, and pain anywhere in the body.

"I first discovered the benefits of chiropractic treatment after an on-the-job injury nearly 40 years ago. After pointless visits to medical doctors and out of desperation because of no relief, I was referred to Dr. Woods for chiropractic treatment by a friend. I have been a patient for the last 10 years and I am enjoying the benefits of having a healthy spine and maintaining a better quality of life. At nearly 70 years of age, I'm certain that chiropractic is allowing me to live a pain free life."
